Which Hendo mix should I choose?

01 Chunky Aroid Mix: Monstera, Philodendron, Scindapsus, Anthurium, Syngonium and other tropical aroids.
02 Alocasia Mix: Alocasia, Colocasia and other moisture-sensitive aroids.
03 Cactus + Succulent Mix: cacti and succulents that need fast drainage.
04 Orchid Mix: Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Dendrobium and other epiphytic orchids.

Can I use the mixes straight from the bag?

Yes. Every Hendo mix is ready to use for potting and repotting.

How much mix do I need?

As a rough guide, a 6-inch pot holds about 1.5 to 2 quarts. Our 4 QT bag is 3.78 L and our 8 QT bag is 7.57 L. If you're repotting several plants, the 8 QT bag is the better value.

How is a chunky mix different from regular potting soil?

Regular potting soil is mostly fine material that holds a lot of water and compacts over time. Chunky mixes use bark, coco chips, perlite and other larger pieces that leave air pockets, so water drains quickly and roots get oxygen. Learn more in Why Chunky Soil Mixes Help Aroids Grow Better.

Will a chunky mix prevent root rot?

No soil can guarantee that, but an airy, fast-draining mix lowers the risk. Watering habits, pot drainage and light matter too. See Root Rot Explained.

How often should I water?

There's no fixed schedule. Chunky mixes dry faster than regular soil, so check how dry the mix is and how light the pot feels before watering.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is $8, and it's free on orders of $70 or more. Express shipping is $20. We ship within the United States.

Can I return a bag?

Unopened bags can be returned within 14 days of delivery. If something arrives damaged, leaking or wrong, email us a photo within 7 days and we'll make it right. See our Refund Policy.
